Tulsa Gathering Mission Opportunities

Mission Projects will be assembled at the Gathering so please bring the following items, either individually or from your PW circle.

Emergency Infant Services is a non-profit organization providing help for children 5 years and under in the Tulsa area, assisting over 18,000 infants and toddlers each year. (https://www.eistulsa.org/ )

  1. Layette supplies (one of each for each bag):  sleeper and onesie (newborn for preemie layettes and 0-3 mo. for newborn layettes), pair of booties, fleece blanket, receiving blanket, baby wash, bottle, bulb syringe, pacifier, thermometer, and new reusable shopping bag to put supplies in.
  2. Art kitdrawing paper, construction paper, markers, coloring and activity books, glue stick, and stickers.

Inverness Village is a non-profit retirement community with a Memory Support Unit in Tulsa. (https://www.invernessvillage.com/health-services/memory-support/)

Fidget mat or apron for Alzheimer’s patients in Memory Support Unit at Inverness Village in Tulsa.

Fidget mats and aprons for Alzheimer’s patients:  Goal is to make 12 mats or aprons for the Memory Support unit at Inverness Village in Tulsa; extra mats/aprons may be taken home by Gathering participants for patients in their communities.  Fabric placemats; scraps of fabric, cuffs to button and unbutton, ribbon, lace, buttons, knitted flowers or other knitted objects, men’s ties, bows, zippers, shoelaces and other tactical odds and ends that can be hand-sewn or glued to the mats/aprons.

Full Registration, July 25 through 27:  $175

           Thurs, July 25 only:  $35, including dinner

           Fri., July 26 only:  $75, including 3 meals and evening entertainment

           Sat., July 27 only:  $65, including breakfast and lunch

Late registration after June 2nd-July 10th 

**After July 10th, registration at the door only and lodging arrangements on your own**

          Fri., July 26 only:  $80, including 3 meals and evening entertainment

Guests may join us for meals and entertainment.

Tulsa Gathering Description of Tours

The First Presbyterian Church, Tulsa was organized in 1885. It originally met in the store owned by James M. Hall. The first permanent minister, Rev. Charles William Kerr and his wife arrived in Tulsa in 1900. Kerr remained at this church for over 40 years. Under his leadership, the church became the second largest in its denomination (PCUSA). https://www.firstchurchtulsa.org

Offered once on Thursday, July 25. 2-hour tour from 12:00-2:00**

This tour will include downtown Tulsa, Brady Arts and Blue Dome districts, mid-town, Gathering Place, Woodward Park & Utica Square, Oil-Barron homes, Route 66–where east meets west, and others.
